About

This is the official group blog for the online feminist book club: Radical Readers & Feminisms for Dummies.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
We will vote on one book to read each month and discuss it here, as well as our Goodreads group.

WHY A FEMINIST BOOK CLUB?
Why the heck not?

This started as an idea between a couple of feminist bloggers: a way to read feminist texts and discuss them with other like-minded people. Folks could get to know each other better in a space created with discussion and openness as the goal. We could all learn more about how different feminist values grow, adapt, survive, die, etc. Perhaps our own notions of what a feminist looks like might also grow, adapt, survive, die.

Pretty simple, really.

WHY ONLINE?
Because geographic barriers shouldn’t stop a group of intelligent bookworms from engaging with one another and reading great books.

WHERE’D YOU GET YOUR NAME?
This is added as a shout-out to book club members Madama Ambi and Lacey. It’s a combination of my two favorite suggestions. Radical Readers because that’s what we are, and Feminisms for Dummies because this is a learning process and we want to keep the group open to everyone, including those new to the label “feminist.”

COOL, HOW DO I JOIN?
Just read along and start engaging in discussion! If you have any questions, or would like to be more involved, just email frausally (at) gmail (dot) com
